HOW TO PLAY SKAT
In the trick-taking game of Skat, a round consists of two phases: bidding and playing tricks. The bidding determines the declarer who is allowed to pick up the two remaining cards – the skat – and decides the conditions of trick-taking. This is followed by the actual trick-taking, in which you aim to win as many valuable cards as possible. When all cards have been played, evaluation ensues: If the declarer wins, they receive points resulting from the game value. For a lost game, however, double the game value is deducted.
